How We Design a Landscape

Every project starts with a walk-through of your property. We take note of what's already there — the layout, sun exposure, drainage, mature trees, any existing beds you want to keep. Then we talk through what you actually want the space to do.

At Bella Molina Landscaping, we design and install landscapes for homes across Roselle, Cranford, Westfield, Linden, and the rest of Union County. Some jobs are a straightforward bed refresh: new mulch, new plantings, cleaner edging. Others are full property redesigns with grading, hardscape, and lighting. Either way, we handle it start to finish.

Once we agree on the plan and price, we schedule the install. Most projects run 3 to 7 days. We plant everything ourselves, clean up when we're done, and walk you through what to water and when for the first growing season.

Questions We Get a Lot

It depends on the scope — a front-yard refresh is different from a full property overhaul. We do a free property walk-through and give you a straight estimate before any commitment. No hidden design fees, no surprise line items.

If you have us do both, the design work is folded into the project cost. If you only want the design and plan to install it yourself, we can do that too — priced separately.

Most residential installs run 3-7 days depending on scope. A front-yard bed refresh might be one day; a full property redesign with grading, hardscaping, and planting is a longer build. We give you a real timeline before we start.

Spring and fall are ideal — the plants root without heat stress or winter kill. That said, we install year-round; summer works too when we water on the right schedule.

Yes. A lot of the "bad landscaping" people call us about is really a drainage problem. We fix the water first, then design around it.

Absolutely. If you've got mature trees, established plantings, or specific features you want to keep, we design around them. Not everything has to be ripped out.
